Call every WordPress form lead within seconds

Install the Peregrine plugin, or paste one line into your WordPress site, and every form submission that includes a phone number is called by Peregrine within seconds.

How it works

The Peregrine snippet listens for form submissions on your pages. When a submitted form includes a phone number, it sends the lead to Peregrine in the background. It does not slow down or change your form. Your form plugin keeps doing everything it did before, including its own emails and entries.

Peregrine then calls the lead within seconds, qualifies them on your criteria, and live-transfers qualified callers to the next available rep. If nobody is free, it schedules a callback and flags the lead as hot in your dashboard.

Install the WordPress plugin

Download the Peregrine plugin (a small zip). In WordPress, go to Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, choose the file and activate it. Then open Settings, Peregrine and paste your source token: in Peregrine, add a WordPress source under Sources & API and copy its token, which starts with src_. The plugin adds the snippet to every page of your site, and removing the plugin removes it.

Or paste the snippet yourself

Copy your snippet from Sources & API in Peregrine and add it to your site's footer, either through your theme's footer settings or a header-and-footer code plugin. It looks like this: <script src="https://peregrinelead.com/p.js" data-source="your-source-token" async></script>.

It works with the common form plugins, including Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, WPForms, Elementor forms and Ninja Forms. It reads the submitted fields in the browser, so it does not depend on any one plugin.

Prefer a webhook?

Many form plugins can post submissions to a URL. Point them at your Peregrine source URL instead of using the snippet if you prefer server-to-server delivery.

Add a Webhook source in Peregrine under Sources & API and copy its URL. Then use your plugin's webhook feature, such as the Webhooks add-on for Gravity Forms, the Webhooks addon for WPForms, or the Webhook action in Elementor Pro forms. Send the fields under the keys Peregrine reads: name (or first_name and last_name), phone, email, company and message. JSON and standard form posts both work. Plugins name fields differently, so send one test and check that the name and phone arrive in Peregrine.

Consent

Add clear consent language near the phone field, such as "By submitting, you agree to receive a call about your request, which may use an AI assistant." Peregrine discloses that it is an AI on every call. If the consent line is a checkbox, Peregrine records the wording the lead ticked, and when, with the lead.

What the snippet sends

Only fields from the form being submitted: name, phone, email, company and any message, when present. It skips hidden, password and payment fields, and anything that looks like a card number, account number or security code. Forms without a phone number are left alone. To exclude a form that does have a phone field, add the attribute data-peregrine-ignore to the form.

The snippet sends the lead in the background with a browser beacon, so the visitor can move to your thank-you page at once. Your plugin still saves its own entry and sends its own notification email.

Make sure the phone field is recognized

The snippet finds the phone field by its type, name, label or placeholder. A field using the telephone input type, or labelled Phone, Mobile or Cell, works. A field labelled only "Best number" may be missed, so rename it or use your plugin's phone field. The number needs at least seven digits, and numbers without a country code are read as US or Canada.

Testing the setup

After adding the snippet, submit your own form with your own phone number. Mark yourself available in Peregrine first, because by default it only dials while someone can take a transfer. The lead appears in Peregrine within seconds, and your phone rings right after. Open the lead to see the call, the transcript and the qualification result.

Troubleshooting

If no lead arrives, view your page source and confirm the snippet is there. Caching and optimization plugins sometimes combine or delay scripts. Exclude p.js from those settings and clear the cache. If the form loads inside a frame from another site, the snippet cannot see it, so use the plugin's webhook instead. If the same number is submitted twice within ten seconds, the snippet sends it once.

Several forms, several offers

Leads from the snippet use your default qualification profile. If your site has a quote form for one service and a contact form for another, and each needs its own questions, send the second form by webhook and add a fixed product_id field with that profile's id. Most webhook settings let you add a fixed value. Growth includes three profiles and Scale includes unlimited profiles.

Snippet or webhook?

The snippet is the faster start. You paste it once and it covers every form on the site, including forms you add later. A webhook takes a few minutes per form, but it runs from your server, it works for forms that load in a frame, and it can send extra fields such as the profile id and your consent text. Many sites use the snippet everywhere and a webhook for one or two special forms.

A quote form built for a fast call

Make the phone field required and label it "Phone". Ask for the details the call would otherwise ask, such as ZIP code or type of service, so the call is shorter. Put the consent line next to the phone field. On the thank-you message, tell people to expect a call within a minute. Leads who know the call is coming are more likely to pick up.

Checklist before going live

Paste the snippet in the site-wide footer. Approve your qualification profile. Add your reps with their hours and the numbers transfers should ring. Add a consent line next to every phone field. Submit each form once with your own number and confirm the lead and the call. Then check the first day of real leads in the dashboard.

Other website builders and tag managers

The same snippet works on Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, Framer and hand-written sites. Paste it into the site-wide footer code. If you use Google Tag Manager, add it as a Custom HTML tag that fires on all pages. Whichever route you use, send a test lead before you rely on it.
