Answer every quote request before the next contractor does

When a furnace fails or a pipe bursts, the homeowner fills in three quote forms in five minutes. The first company that calls usually gets the job.

Why home services is a speed race

Home-services leads are urgent and comparison-shopped. A homeowner with a broken system is not waiting until tomorrow; they are calling whoever answers. Lead marketplaces and directories sell the same request to several contractors at once, which turns response time into the deciding factor.

Meanwhile the office is busy: dispatchers are on the phone with crews, technicians are in the field, and evening and weekend requests sit until morning.

What Peregrine does for a contractor

Peregrine calls each new web or marketplace lead within seconds, day or night. It confirms the address is in your service area, what is wrong, how urgent it is, and whether the caller owns the home, then live-transfers ready-to-book jobs to whoever is on the phones. If nobody can take the call, it schedules a callback for the next time someone is on and flags the lead as hot in your dashboard.

Because it looks up what it can before calling, the call stays short. Because it tells callers it is an AI assistant up front, homeowners know exactly what they are talking to.

Typical qualification for a home-services company

Service area: in your ZIP codes. Job type: repair, replacement, or new installation. Urgency: emergency, this week, or planning. Ownership: owner or authorized tenant. Budget signals for replacements. Deal-breakers: outside the service area, requests for work you do not do.

Works with the tools you already use

Add one line of JavaScript to your website, or connect your form builder by webhook. Marketplaces that can post leads to a URL connect the same way. If a marketplace only sends leads by email, an email parser such as Zapier's can turn each email into a webhook. Transfers ring your office line, a dispatcher's cell, or a rotation of salespeople. Pricing is per lead handled, so a busy shared office line costs the same as ten reps.

What a call sounds like

A homeowner submits a quote request at 7:40 in the evening because the air conditioner stopped cooling. Within seconds their phone rings. Peregrine introduces itself as an AI assistant for your company, confirms the address and the problem, asks whether it is the original system and roughly how old it is, and whether they would like someone out tomorrow. If your on-call dispatcher is available, the homeowner is connected right away, and the dispatcher hears "AC not cooling, 14-year-old system, wants tomorrow morning" before saying hello.

If nobody is on, Peregrine tells the homeowner when to expect a callback, schedules it, and flags the lead as hot in your dashboard, so the morning starts with the warmest leads first.

Setting it up

Write the profile first. List your service ZIP codes, the job types you want, and the ones you do not do. Mark out-of-area requests and work you do not offer as deal-breakers. Next, add the people who take transfers: the office line, a dispatcher's cell, or salespeople, each with their hours. Then add the snippet to your website footer, and connect any marketplace that can post leads to a webhook. Finally, submit your own quote form with your own phone number and listen to the whole call before you send real leads.

Set the retry schedule to match how homeowners behave. Many will not pick up an unknown number the first time. The default schedule calls immediately, then after five minutes, thirty minutes, four hours and a day, and leaves a voicemail with your callback number on the last attempt.

After-hours choices

You have two ways to handle leads that arrive when nobody is on. The default holds the lead and calls it the moment the first person's hours start. The other calls every lead right away, at any hour, qualifies it, and schedules a callback for when someone is back. Many contractors add the on-call tech as a rep with evening and weekend hours, so emergency jobs at night still reach a person.

Questions contractors ask

"Homeowners want a person." They get one. The assistant says it is an AI in its first sentence, asks a few short questions, and connects ready-to-book jobs to your office in about two minutes. The alternative for most evening leads is no call at all until morning.

"We get a lot of junk leads." Deal-breakers end those calls politely without bothering your dispatcher. They still count as leads handled on your plan, so if one source sends mostly junk, the numbers will show it.

"Our office already calls back fast." Check the timestamps for leads that arrive at 7 p.m. on a Saturday. That is usually where the gap is.

Make the form do some of the work

Ask for the ZIP code and the type of job on the form itself. Peregrine scores what the form already answers, so the call gets shorter. Make the phone field required, label it "Phone", and add a consent line next to it.

On the thank-you page, tell homeowners to expect a call within a minute, and show the number it will come from. A homeowner who knows the call is coming is more likely to answer it, and less likely to keep filling in other contractors' forms while they wait.

Measuring the impact

Compare the share of web leads reached and booked before and after, and look at evenings and weekends separately, since that is where most of the change shows up. Track cost per booked job by lead source; marketplaces that sell shared leads often look very different once every lead is called in seconds.

Seasonal peaks

Heat waves and cold snaps bring a flood of requests exactly when the office is overwhelmed. Peregrine calls every lead immediately regardless of volume, qualifies them, and sends only ready-to-book jobs to your people, which keeps the phones useful on the busiest days of the year.

Questions

Can Peregrine call leads after hours?

Yes. By default it calls the moment someone is on to take a transfer. You can also let it call right away at any hour, qualify the lead, and schedule a callback for when your team is back.

Does it work with lead marketplaces?

Yes. Any source that can send a webhook can feed Peregrine, and it calls those leads within seconds. For marketplaces that only send email, use an email parser such as Zapier's to forward each lead as a webhook.

Will homeowners know it is an AI?

Yes. Peregrine introduces itself as an AI assistant in its first sentence.
